About AD HOCK

About Us!

Coming together for the first time in a little pub on Peterborough’s Eastfield Road, Del and Tony had both played with a number of other musicians in the past. AD HOCK was born out of a desire to have fun and get paid for it…

Del was currently in rehearsal with a new band that didn’t seem to be able to get out playing, while Tony was between bands and running the karaoke at The Cavendish. After having a few drinks together, they discovered an opportunity to get together for a few jam sessions and see what happened.

One day, when the equipment for the karaoke didn’t show up, they were roped in to provide the entertainment with a couple of guitars and a loose-leaf songbook called 'Don’t Panic'. Most people quite liked it, and it was time to go shopping for a PA system!

AD HOCK’s mix of music is unusual in itself, offering everything from rock, pop, folk, reggae, soul… Even some incredibly rude stuff from an Australian called Kevin ‘Bloody’ Wilson (see the links page). They also do all they can to accommodate all types of requests, meaning that no two shows are alike. They have attempted everything up to and including Brittany Spears, Motorhead, Meatloaf, The Streets… Nothing is beyond an attempt.

Highlights of their time so far include St Patrick’s Day at O’Neills in Peterborough, where every year so far there have been 400 people in all night long (they will be doing their third Paddy’s Day there in 2005), The first open air music festival in Folksworth, an open air fund raiser at The Exeter Arms in Helpston which saw them taking the equipment into the pub and playing on till early in the morning (this seems to happen every time at the Exeter Arms) and most recently New Years Eve at The Whistle Stop in Tallington, where for some reason they think we are the most fun they have ever had there.

Del and Tony would like to thank you for visiting their website, and hope to see you soon at one of our gigs.
